Lazy Days Revisted

Lounging around, I won’t lie to you, is one of my favorite pastimes. Feet up, eyes perhaps half closed. But of course, this is just a memory of something that was once a part of my life. I rarely lounge these days. I have no choice and no time. Writer, mom, wife, owner of new puppy…nope, lounging just isn’t in the cards. But I have a kickin’ drawer full of loungewear. Shorts, pants, capris…all cotton, all cozy. Back in the day, weekends and after work usually meant stepping out of an outfit and right into a comfy pair of these pants. Makes me sleepy and dreamy just thinking about it.

Whether he’s on top of a mountain or a molehill, these Appaman camp shorts are every boy’s answer to the summer lounge M.O. As far as their camp moniker and style, they’re the kind of shorts you wear when someone else is setting up the tent, someone else is making a fire pit, and someone else is gathering wood. When you wear these shorts, all you’re doing is lounging campsite under the stars, feet up, eyes perhaps half closed.

Knowing how the right clothes can relax you, I have always made a point to help my daughter understand the beauty of such loungewear. If she were to take a good look at her wardrobe, she might realize that among the trendy baby clothes, dresses and frilly sweaters are comfy, ready-for-relaxing pieces. And if she could sit still for a minute, maybe we could both close our eyes for a moment.
