A Day at the Beach

I was watching Beach Blanket Bingo the other day. I know. Why, you’re asking. Well, there was nothing else on. Don’t judge me. Anyway, as I watched these happy-go-lucky ‘60s guys and dolls bop around the beach, I realized something. Girls’ bathing suits of today are lacking. Most of them don’t have what it takes to be true fashion – the classic lines, the lovely silhouettes, the flirty fabrics and designs. The ones they had decades ago had a certain playfulness to them. I thought, what a shame that my daughter won’t be able to wear the couture vintage suits that they had back in the day.

But then I was happy to find out she can. The Spotted Sunsuit by Dagmar Daley answered my cry for a sweet suit. Whether she’s running in and out of the waves or playing seaside, any girl would definitely qualify as a bathing beauty in this girls adorable suit.

I love the super girly ruched gathers and extra fun polka dots. In a silly way, the double row of zig zag stitching at the top mimics my daughter’s activity on the beach…into the water, out of the water, in, out. The halter top is very vintage, while the gathered stitching in the back is great for a modern fit.

So now I can watch my daughter bop around the beach. A true happy-go-lucky girl. Minus all those corny songs and twisting.
