Creating Magic With Arts and Crafts

We love the look of wonder on a child’s face after turning ordinary household items into creations that let their imaginations run wild. The idea is not just to create the most lifelike creations, but rather give the children items and a goal for what these things should become with a little effort. We love the creative use of cardboard tubes to make this gallant castle.

There are only several key things to consider when you indulge in craft time. Make sure you control the dangerous items such as scissors, sharp pens, and other such things.

Next, always make sure you have extra materials. You will be amazed how creative children will be when actually given the creative license to experiment. It’s impressive! Color is a big part of the creative process, so be sure to have between 32 and 64 colors on hand so they can feel free to express themselves.

Be sure to allow them to take the lead in creative direction, or else it will seem like a chore to the children. Don’t be afraid to let the project veer off into unknown territory. Sometimes that can be the fun part! Whether you choose to go big or keep it simple, arts and craft time is an enriching experience for the entire family!
