At Estella, being socially responsible is every bit as important as offering unique products and providing excellent customer service. On a Local level, we support local private and public organizations such as Reach Out and Read of Greater New York - a not-for-profit organization that works with pediatricians, authors and publishers to get books to lower income families and encourage them to read to their kids before the age of 6. Our commitment extends further onto a global level.

Citta is an organization that we?e been working with for several seasons that bring us beautiful hand-knitted and crocheted cashmere blankets and sweaters. The artisans behind the one-of-a-kind items are women living in the poverty stricken rural regions of Gorkha, Nepal who, most of the time, are the primary source of income for their families. The women's center, known as "Ashaghar" (House of Hope), employs and train these women to knit, embroider and crochet in hopes of teaching skills that allow them to provide for their families.

Treading lightly on our increasingly delicate earth has always been of utmost concern to us for ourselves, and more importantly, our children. That? why we have introduced more eco-friendly products into our store such as clothing made from milk fiber, a renewable resource, as well as organic cottons from designers such as Salvor Fauna. Going green shouldn? be a fad, but a way of life.

This Fall, Estella has partnered with Action Against Hunger to help eradicate childhood malnutrition and educate others about world hunger and Plumpy?ut, a ready-to-eat nutritional paste that has been recognized by the World Health Organization. For every purchase made, Estella will donate one Plumpy?ut to a child in need. All profits from our very own Plumpy?ut bracelet will be utilized to purchase the life saving concoction.
