Estella’s unique baby toy collection is different from those of other baby stores because we travel the world and work very hard to find imaginative baby toys designed by artisans who are less interested in mass production and more so in making stylish and beautiful yet practical baby toys. Most of our designers are mothers who were working for large fashion houses like Jean Paul Gaultier & Dries Van Notten, but left their positions to design for their own kids and their collection. They had kids and found that there was little on the children's clothing & toy market that is stylish yet practical and imaginative. Thus, the basic tenet in their designs and our designer baby and toddler clothes & toy collection is to make stylish and practical clothes & toys for children. We try for example to avoid newborn baby stuffed animals that are ornamental only. Knowing that newborns like to play with their toys, we avoid ornamental toys for newborn babies.
